MediaMatrix NION Acoustic Echo Cancellation Module

MediaMatrix has expanded into the tele/video conferencing market with the release of the NIO-AEC Acoustic Echo Cancellation module. The NIO-AEC is an 8 channel AEC module that can be used with the NION nX, n3, n6 and the soon to be released nE. Up to four modules can be used per NION.

The module includes 8 x Mic/Line inputs and 8 x AEC processors. A clever feature of the module is that each AEC can be assigned to any audio channel in NION, whether that be a local input, a mix of inputs, or audio arriving over CobraNet, Dante or XDAB.

The assignable AEC in NION is a big advantage for facilities with many meeting rooms where all need AEC, but not all at once. AEC resources can be shared from an AEC equipped NION or soft-patched from a central rack room to any meeting room either locally, or on the network via CobraNet or Dante.

With traditional systems, an AEC is required per mic, irrespective of how often that mic channel is used for conferencing. Our assignable processors means that a pool of AEC's can be allocated when and where they are needed, and this can be achieved via simple presets or a scheduled event. The end result is typically a substantial cost saving.

The NIO-AEC features wideband echo cancellation, fast convergence time and software selectable phantom power. And the combination of the NIO-AEC and Dante equipped NION's provides the ideal solution for low latency distribution of AEC audio channels across a network.
