Paynter Dixon start stage 3 of Parramatta Leagues Club rejuvination

Parramatta Leagues Club is 50 years young and an institution in the local area, with an honourable history and many great memories supporting the legendary Parramatta Eels NRL team.

The multi-level complex boasts something for everyone, from a range of dining and bars, to live entertainment. Now the club is taking its offering to the next level, with Paynter Dixon undertaking stage three of a five-stage master plan to rejuvenate the club as a destination venue.

The works will create an easy and seamless transition between all areas of the club by installation of a series of six escalators.

Bob Bentley, CEO of Parramatta Leagues Club said, "We wanted to make time in the club more convenient and enjoyable for our patrons. This kind of fast and easy access to all levels of the club is the link we have needed since patronage has increased over the years".

The escalators will also provide a way to showcase features and facilities while enabling patrons to move quickly between levels within the ambience of the club. The escalators will link to the recently completed Parra Firehouse, as well as the Tahoe Lounge, currently under construction on the ground floor.

"This five-stage renovation we're undertaking is part of a new way of doing business for Parramatta Leagues Club. We're creating a destination venue with better offerings in food, entertainment and gaming," Mr Bentley said. "By improving facilities and attracting more members to our club, we're also supporting our local team, so it's win-win for everyone," he said.

The Tahoe Lounge will extend the existing Tahoe Café to include a lounge, bar, café and outdoor terrace area. Parramatta Leagues Club's reception area will also see a facelift as the central welcome area for members and guests.

Lindsay Verdon, Head of Hospitality and Entertainment Venues at Paynter Dixon said, "It's a major operation, but we're working closely with the Club to ensure disruption to guests is kept to a minimum and we're confident the result will be worth the wait".

The works are due to be completed in March 2012. Patrons of the club are already enjoying the Parra Firehouse which we completed earlier in the year and this next stage of work will further service the interests of the Club's guests.

"The works won't stop here. There are two more stages on the cards, with the entire rejuvenation project scheduled to be completed over the next few years," he said.
