Whitecliffe at Strathfield Recreation Club

During tough economic times and growing competition Strathfield Recreation Club has not only managed to survive but has thrived.
As retailers and clubs across the Inner West shut their doors, the club has posted a large profit which has been reinvested back into its venue for the benefit of its menbers.

What is the secret to their success?

Vice-president Alex Elliot said it was inclusiveness and modern management. "Years ago the club was going broke, what we did was open the club up to everyone. We opened it up to the community, before that it was a very insular club and attendance and membership at the club had been restrictive. "

A new board of directors had chosen to invite the community back into the club
.
As part of the reinvestment of club funds into its future, Strathfield Recreational Club in conjunction with Whitecliffe Imports and HTW Design Carpet set about designing and constructing a carpet that would serve these goals of the communities inclusiveness into the long term operations of the venue.

It was a major consideration that the carpet design and construction would enable the Club to take a wide variety of bookings for functions. It also had to be cost effective, fast to produce and deliver and mange the wear and tear of various user groups.

The project has been completed to the satisfaction of the Club board and members and Whitecliffe Imports have been proud to associated with a venue that has returned its investment into the community it serves.
