Paynter Dixon to refurb Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club

Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club is undergoing a $2 million facelift to transform the Club, with a modern refurbishment of its fitness centre, lounge and reception area.

The renovation includes a major upgrade to the Club's fitness centre, The Fitness Edge, originally constructed by Paynter Dixon over 13 years ago.

The new look fitness centre will expand the size of existing facilities by 25 per cent to accommodate more weights and cardio equipment. The renovation will also extend to the pool area with a rebuild of an extra change room.

To make way for this million dollar makeover, the Sportsmen's Lounge on the lower level of the Club, although reduced in size, will be transformed with a new bar and finishes. A refurbished Fitness Centre reception area will complete the makeover.

Chris McCarthy, General Manager of Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club, said: "The Fitness Edge has not had a makeover since it opened in 1998 so we're excited to be working with Paynter Dixon again to give it the fresh, modern look it needs. It has always been a popular centre within the local area but its drawback has always been its size.

"We're pleased to be able to reinvigorate the premises to better cater to the health and social interests of our 35,000 members," he said.

Paynter Dixon will manage the refurbishment so that The Fitness Edge will remain open during the works, which are due to be completed by April 2012.

Lindsay Verdon, Head of Hospitality & Entertainment Venues at Paynter Dixon, said: "We're moving into an era where clubs are looking to provide patrons with more than just entertainment and gaming facilities. The Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club renovation is evidence of the Club's commitment to provide better services and facilities to their members."
