Nobu to open in Perth
Perth's Burswood complex has confirmed the latest Australian branch of chef and restaurateur Nobu Matsuhisa's eponymously named restaurants will open there in September.
Taking up the reins as head chef of Nobu Perth will be French-born Nicolas Mazier who previously was executive sous chef at Nobu Miami.
In the role of sushi chef will be Asao Tsukama who comes to Perth from Nobu Los Angeles and before that Nobu's namesake restaurant Matsuhisa.
Another experienced Nobu employee, Casper Khamphouy, has been appointed general manager having worked for the chain since 2005 at a number of the restaurant's outposts including Dubai and most recently LA.
The restaurant will be located on the site of the former Swan Room which overlookshe city, river, pools and tropical gardens at Burswood.
In a new move it will be the only Nobu with a teppanyaki with the restaurants offerings including a private Teppan dining room. Antoher unique feature will be a sake bar with an extensive sake menu.
