Wrest Point Casino Chooses Nexo for It's Auditorium

Hobart's gorgeous waterfront Casino, Wrest Point, was recently spoilt with a complete Nexo install. The Tasman Room, Wrest Point's large multi-purpose auditorium, seats up to 1600 guests with additional space for standing patrons.

The Tasman Room is home to everything from theatre productions to corporate events. The Plenary Hall is adjoined to the Tasman Room divided by a removable wall. Wrest Point wanted the ability to run two individual systems when the wall was in place and to run a single, larger PA when the entire area was going to be used for a single event.

Image GalleryJamie Howell from 'The Sound Company' was called in to consult on the installation and work out an appropriate solution. The stage area was fitted with 8 x Nexo GeoD10's flown four per side in a typical concert style format. There were also 2 x Nexo Geo Sub's flown with one on each side. Flying the subs isn't often done however Wrest Point wanted to ensure the amount of floor space was maximised and the angled shape of the ceiling meant that by having the subs flown, sight lines were maintained and coverage was maximised. 4 x RCF Art 310's were also installed as front fill for the Tasman Room which further facilitated even sound through the venue. Additionally, 8 x Nexo PS15's were installed for their monitoring system.

Plenary Hall was fitted with 4 x Nexo PS15's and 2 x Nexo PS15 Bass extenders with 2 x Nexo LS1200 Subs. This system, like that of the Tasman Room was powered by Camco Vortex amplifiers. The configuration was as such that both of these systems could be used as a single PA for concerts and large events or split into two dedicated systems for instances where the two rooms were to be sectioned off.
