Adelaide Casino redevelopment still on the cards

Despite rumours to the contrary, plans for the $250 million redevelopment of the Adelaide Casino are going ahead.

SkyCity Entertainment Group has issued a statement claiming that reports that the plans were to be scraped are unfounded and wrong, and that "SkyCity and the Adelaide Casino are ready and willing to press the button on the redevelopment project as soon as the necessary approvals have been progressed."

Announced last year, plans to expand and upgrade the North Terrace site of Adelaide Casino are part of a broader vision to revitalise the Riverbank Precinct and could include new and expanded gaming facilities, dedicated car parking and the creation of new sports bars, bars and restaurants.

"With plans to extend the building towards the riverfront, it creates so many opportunities to become more of a tourist destination, as well as a place South Australians will equally be able to enjoy," said Adelaide Casino general manager, David Christian.
