Panasonic announces new advanced 103-inch Full HD commercial display panel featuring Neo Plasma technology

Leading the way in the large screen and digital signage market Panasonic has today launched a new, advanced 103-inch commercial display panel taking advantage of the company’s energy-efficient, double luminance technology, Neo Plasma, to deliver industry-leading picture quality with amazingly crisp, blur-free dynamic image reproduction.

Panasonic first launched the original 103-inch plasma display to the market in 2006.  The new 103-inch Neo Plasma panel meets the continued demand for larger screens for applications such as digital signage in pubs and clubs, convention centres, sporting stadiums, TV/video production and home theatre.  Slimmer and lighter than its predecessor it makes transportation and installation easier.

Mark Deere-Jones, Director, Business Systems Group, Panasonic Australia said the introduction of the new 103-inch highlights Panasonic’s commitment to the growing digital signage market.

“Digital signage is a growing market and the demand for larger screen sizes in commercial applications is increasing.  Venues such as pubs and clubs can really benefit from larger screens especially for major sporting events, as they can offer patrons an enhanced viewing experience that they wouldn’t get in their own living room.”

A key advantage of Neo Plasma is its energy-efficient, double luminance technology that reduces energy consumption and running costs while achieving new levels of brightness for an exceptionally vivid, rich image.  The new panel boasts a moving picture resolution of 1,080 lines and a stunning contrast ratio of 40,000:1i, offering high brightness and excellent moving-picture resolution for clear motion images with amazing depth and crisp detail.  The result is a display that delivers outstanding image-quality, performance and versatility, making it the ideal choice for a range of applications.

The new 103-inch has been purpose-built specifically for commercial installations and has a durable and long lasting design.  It features a panel of tempered glass on the front for protection against knocks and bumps, making it ideal for permanent installations in high-traffic, public locations such as shopping malls or pubs and clubs. Like all Panasonic Plasma displays, it has been manufactured with lead-free glass to minimise environmental impact.

“The new 103-inch Neo Plasma display panel offers the most impressive image-producing technology for commercial installations and with the new slimmer design it’s easier to install.” said Deere-Jones.

As a versatile digital solution, the new Plasma display panel not only delivers dynamic images but has convenient features designed for professional use. It has a LAN PJLink terminal.  PJLink is a standard protocol which allows remote control of multiple displays via a PC over a LAN.  The display also features Panasonic’s own multi-function slots allowing users to add up to three different terminal boards such as DVI and Dual Link HD-SDI, according to their needs.

The Panasonic TH-103PF12W is priced at around $68,750 RRPii Panasonic has trained selected specialists as Authorised 103" Plasma dealers and installers.
