Yamaha launches installation speaker series

Yamaha is adding to its portfolio of installation loudspeakers with the launch of the VS Series.

The VS series will comprise two models - the VS4 and VS6 - which are available in either black or white finishes. Both feature a functional design with weatherproof enclosures which meet the industry standard IEC60529 IPX3 rating.

Suitable for use in a wide variety of settings, for background music or as part of a distributed PA system for announcements, VS Series speakers are particularly well suited to installations where the audio system needs to blend in with the venue it's installed in, says the company.

The VS4 features a 4" driver and the VS6 a 6.5" driver, both also including a 1" balanced dome tweeter for clarity at higher frequencies. Internally mounted transformers allow them to operate in 70V or 100V distributed sound systems, while an overload protection circuit is provided to protect the speaker components. Both units can be installed horizontally or vertically, using an included colour-matched steel U-bracket.
