Located in the heart of Mosman, Hawthorn Mosman is a casual restaurant/wine bar located in a heritage listed, freestanding cottage with interior fitout by interior designer Natasha Levak from Coco Republic in collaboration with architect Jeremy Bull from Akin Creative.
Offering guests a relaxed, eclectic and inviting environment away from the bustle of the Mosman Strip, the period wine bar, (the heart of Hawthorn Mosman), offers an outstanding small wine list in a refined and grown-up space.
“The Hawthorn presented to us a really fantastic opportunity to tell a story of Sean’s arrival to what had become a fairly unloved but yet fundamentally special site in Mosman,” said Jeremy Bull. ” The heritage bones of the site, the building generally and especially those details in what was to become the wine bar are truly charismatic and we immediately hloved these spaces. For us then, this project became one of renewal and a gentle peeling back of the wear which can often afflict these older sites.
“The additions we could make had to acknowledge the significance of the heritage of this corner site on Military road but also bring a freshness and energy to match that of Sean’s. The tenancy is fresh and sophisticated, whilst the variety of spaces allows the customer to

“Mosman and Balmoral have a fantastic mix of cafes and up market restaurants. As a local I understood there was a need for a casual restaurant offering a more appealing and edgier menu with friendlier more consistent service. I also know Mosman was crying out for a wine bar.”
Byrne has brought his twenty years experience, a passion for customer service and a fantastic team together to create the perfect Mosman ‘locale’, whether it be the sultry wine bar, shaded garden under the jacaranda or refreshing dining room Hawthorn Mosman provides a range of experiences making this project so special.
