The basement of the totally refurbished Hotel Barkly in Melbourne’s St. Kilda precinct was a fabulous space waiting to be developed. Owners Cieran Keyes and Wayne Cox briefed Fiona Barker Design to create a New York/London style upmarket after dark cocktail lounge aimed at the 30 plus affluent demographic.
 
The design was created to reflect a “turn of the century” eclectic style, featuring walls of raw concrete as a neutral backdrop creating a canvass rich in texture. Against this the specially commissioned

reproduction 18th century impressionist artwork creates an ambiance of style and lavishness. Rich tapestry wall coverings and the crafted bar in deep reds and gold add a dash of opulence.

The Bruce Wayne Cocktail bar sets a new precedent for Melbourne night life and stands alone in its unique design and atmosphere. The space provides for social circulating or a more private “bottle and booth” service. Private function rooms are also available.
