Toowoomba's Swish wine bar and restaurant has been replaced by Campari Bar and Restaurant.

The once silent partners of Swish, the Telford Family, are now 100% owners and the business decision has
been made to close down Swish Wine Bar and re-open with a new bar that the local Property Developers have made their own.

“Campari is for everyone – we’ve gone back to basics and we are all about good food and beverage and a good time," said Nigel Telford. "I think a lot of people felt Swish wasn’t their kind of place, but we believe the relaxed and friendly mantra of Campari will have a broad appeal.

“We’ve listened to the feedback and believe Campari is a lot more relevant to the Toowoomba Market, and our affordable menu has been essential in adapting to the current economic climate," added Roger Telford. “Our key message is that Campari is a bar and lounge and not just a restaurant. We’re making big changes to make sure the place has a great vibe on Friday and Saturday nights.”

One of the biggest changes is the installation of a Self Service Wine Wall that offers 24 wines by the taste,
half glass and full glass. It’s one of only a handful in Australia that uses Enomatic technology to store open wine for up to 1 month. This allows you to

feature a full range from the top shelf through to great value local wines for you to compare, or simply try a try a few before you settle on a bottle with dinner or to take-away.

A significant rethink and make-over of the interior design was undertaken in under a week with the change-over to Campari.

“We wanted to transform the very masculine and minimal “Swish” design to reflect the friendly and
accessible vision we had for Campari,” said Roger Telford.

The new owners have added colour to walls in key
locations, moved the Enomatics onto the floor into it’s new cabinetry, removed a section of the glass wine
storage walls and collaborated on an art installation “the Campari Vines”, a 4m three panel piece by a local artist. The design process was undertaken in-house explains Nigel Telford “The original design and fitout was well in excess of $1m front and back of house, but that doesn’t mean it worked perfectly. We took the blinkers off and had a good hard honest look at how things were working / not working from a design point of view and sought to fix the problems and play to our strengths. The dining room now has more privacy and is a great space to be in; the bar seats twice as many and has a vibrant atmosphere day and night.”
