Sensory Lab. As one enters the David Jones
department store via Little Collins St they are greeted with earthy green joinery, timber paneling, Georgian wire glass and bespoke metal work. Details such as marble inlaid paneling gradually unfold as you take the time to explore the space.
Sensory Lab is an interior that is somewhat nostalgic. Not because the interior is old worldly, but rather it takes us back to how the department store experience used to be - where the location of where you had your cup of coffee, was as important as the shopping trip itself.
Sensor Lab is a crafted space with a simple, slightly Belgian interior. The city’s diverse visitors can meet here and the coffee connoisseur can siphon, press or filter their coffee surrounded by a slightly European flavour, in a space that is designed to age gracefully.
Seating groups for one, with mirror, hook, lamp and bench are a place for one to hang your brolly and parcels, regroup and enjoy the raw food offering that complements the simplicity interior space beautifully.
