On the beautiful beachside strip of Black Rock, this all-in-one restaurant, bar, function venue and micro-brewery is an impressive and attractive venue.
Projects of Imagination has designed a building which successfully service the needs of a micro brewery whilst designing an interior which encompass breakfast, lunch and evening dining whilst also attracting an alcohol beverage trade.
The client's motivation was that there is very little hospitality within the local area which offers an experience outside of pokie machine venues and counter meal pubs. The client felt there was an extensive opportunity to create a venue which would elevate the standard of food and beverage within the area.
The client wanted an interior which was relatively understated utilising robust and historic materials (semi-industrial). The interior feels open and connected to the exterior, and ultimately appeals to a broad audience of clientele.
The original facade was maintained with slight modifications to the ground and first level.
Projects of Imagination introduced a second internal facade to help overcome the wind issues whilst offering a semi segregated area for casual breakfast and or drinking trade. The two new openings to either side of the entrance help connect with the sidewalk whilst harnessing the view.
Projects of Imagination decided the brewery should be partially open to the main dining / drinking area but not impact or dominate the interior as they felt it would reduce the opportunity for a successful breakfast and coffee trade. The stairwell helps to act as the screening device.
