JVG to refit Gilligan’s Nightclub
Earlier this month, one of JVG Sound’s Directors visited Cairns to meet with the owners of Gilligan’s Backpackers Hotel and Resort. JVG Sound is proud to have won the contract to complete an L-Acoustics fit out in the Main Room and Back Deck at Gilligan’s Nightclub.
JVG is excited to complete such a huge fit out at this venue. Here are the details:
• The Main Room is to be fitted with 12 KARA Line Array cabinets with six SB18 subwoofers on the stage.
• The Mid Room Line Array will run 12 KIVA Line Array cabinets with two SB15 mid low subwoofer cabinets hanging in a cardioid cardioid sub array and four SB18 subwoofers on the ground.
• The Back Deck will have ARCS Wide and ARCS Focus Curvature Line Arrays off the roof for bands with SB15 subs outside.
• The Attic in the nightclub will be running ARCS Focus and ARCS Wide Curvature Line Arrays on the main dancefloor with SB18 subwoofers and the room fill is X8 with SB15 room fill subs.
• All the amplification at this venue will be powered by L-Acoustics LA4X.
• JVG are using a Neon N6 and Neon N3 for audio DSP processing Dante as well as Crestron Automation CP3 and touch screen controls throughout the venue.
Gilligan’s is also putting in brand new V-Screen 4K Ultra Plus Series LED screens (6x4m) on the back sports bar pool deck, which are to be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to screen international sporting events for visiting backpackers.
• The screen will run a set of Fiberlink NOVA Bridges from rack to rack controlled with RGB Link X2 and Crestron processing systems.
• The display will offer picture in picture 4-way on the screens along with one main image for main events.
This will be the 2nd time JVG Sound has worked with Gilligan’s on a large project in ten years. In 2008, JVG Sound completed a full AV fit out with J-Audio VLA line arrays in Gilligan’s Main Room, Mid Room, Back Deck and The Attic in their nightclub. After ten years, the client is excited for an L-Acoustics AV revamp throughout the venue.
