Gaining recognition as a social hot spot to eat, meet, and drink, new venue Aperitivo in Leichardt also offers an effortlessly stylish set of spaces for a multitude of events. Owner Giuseppe Zagari designed the venue in collaboration with interior designer Cressida Kennedy of Space Control Design.

Featuring a main restaurant area with multiple dining areas, a private courtyard, as well as a separate function room, Aperitivo brings together a diverse set of spaces with a cohesive modern design language. Giuseppe Zagari’s sense of style is evident throughout – his time spent travelling through Milan clearly influencing the subtle yet chic Italian theme that characterizes the Aperitivo venue.

Aperitivo’s main dining and bar area exude contemporary yet casual sophistication, championing the Aperitivo colour theme of red, black and rich wood. Rich, glossy wooden furniture, polished wood floors and stylistic lighting set a refined backdrop, while a rustic exposed brick wall and blackboards scrawled with specials give an overall feel of informal Italian style. An additional feature wall clad with funky, colourful images adds a playful touch. Completed with an abundance of exposed wine bottles on display, Aperitivo’s restaurant and bar area offers a spacious and welcoming area for intimate dinner events, large corporate functions and everything in between. For smaller events the Aperitivo dining area leads out to a sunny private courtyard – perfect for a cocktail style soiree in summer.

In addition to these two spaces, Aperitivo boasts a completely private dining room on the first floor – with capacity for up to 100 people for a

cocktail function. The space is kept flexible with a muted black backdrop; splashes of exposed brick working in harmony with Aperitivo’s contemporary Italian vibe.

The furniture was sourced from different suppliers: tables/bar stools/wooden chairs (Giuseppe had them stained in black) and courtyard chairs (Giuseppe had them sprayed in red) were fromJames Richardson furniture. The red chairs were imported from Italy via Living Edge. The lounge seating was made by accustom upholstery, as was the courtyard cushions and seating.
