Interior Design: Justin and Georgia North
As part of the commitment to refine their establishment into one of Australia’s finest restaurants, Justin and Georgia North have refurbished their acclaimed Sydney restaurant, Bécasse.
“My vision for Bécasse was always to create a first class, modern restaurant in the heart of one of the world’s most vibrant cities,” said Justin North. ” Our goal is to embrace local producers, use both innovative and classic techniques to create a contemporary blend of Modern European Dining at its best; our latest refurbishment us another step in that evolution”
The interior of the restaurant, while retaining much of its subtle sophistication, has evolved into a richer and more seductive setting. The southern wall of the dining room has been dramatically embellished with metallic, vintage style wall coverings, framing the discreet Clarence Street windows. The most theatrical inclusion to the re-styling of the main dining room is a floating bevel edged mirror which runs along the length of the restaurant’s curtained wall.
The Gallery on the mezzanine level, suitable for a more private style of dining, has also been updated with exotic, bronze wallpapers and cool reflective surfaces.
The Bécasse menu has also undergone a major revision with a smart re-design and pricing re-structure that follows a coherent format and is accessible equally to all diners. Entrees are twenty seven dollars, main courses are forty five dollars and desserts are twenty dollars. The Becasse vegetarian menu also makes a move into centre stage, and stands on an equal footing in style and diversity alongside the non-vegetarian menu.
