The new beachfront venue Caves Beachside Hotel has recently opened to a spectacular response by the general public. Overlooking the pristine shores of Caves Beach in the city of Lake Macquarie the venue is strategically located approximately 30 minutes south of Newcastle and just over an hour north of Sydney.

With a capacity for over 1500 patrons, conference, wedding and function bookings have been very strong.

The Grand Nautilus Room can accommodate up to 220 for a wedding, dinner or special event, or over 400 for a cocktail style product launch or private function. This venue breaks into three sound proof smaller conference or intimate dinner venues for up to 60 people. The Mawson Lounge is also available for private functions, offering casual lounge style décore for special occasions such as birthdays, engagements and corporate launches. Both venues boast deck areas off the rooms where guests can enjoy pre dinner drinks or delegates can soak up the sea breeze for morning or afternoon teas.

Whilst the bistro can seat approximately 400 the hotel also offers the aptly named C Restaurant, providing fine dining with the freshest of seafood and stunning ocean views. There are in fact three kitchens in the hotel allowing the opportunity to service five functions at once.

The main design theme that was the starting point for the Caves Beachside Hotel was the natural surrounds. To make it an experience of texture and natural fibres and use products that have a natural feel and wash to them.

The furniture is teak beeswaxed and washed. The fabrics are linen and textured weave. All of which are for commercial application but have a more luxurious feel.

Lighting has created an area of atmosphere in a building whose architectural qualities are the high pitched ceilings.

Interior designer Chris Jones has embraced the natural feel and vibe that life by the seaside creates.

“We have been able to achieve what I believe will be a beautiful environment, to entertain, to relax and celebrate special times with family and friends,” she said. ” So much of the interior design for this project has been taken from the elements found at Caves itself. The colour, texture, light and shadow all have been worked to achieve a pallet that encompasses the sea and the life of the coast in a way that is unique and embracive of the local community.

“We wanted so much, to reflect the life of the beach back through the design and we have been able to do this with some master craftsmen that have designed many ‘one off’ pieces just for us. It has been both exciting and rewarding designing them and waiting for the day of their arrival.”

The Hotel features some of the finest of resources available, beautiful Marble and Shell Stone, Fused & Slumped Glass, Stainless Steel & Wood all working together to give those natural elements a voice.

” We have amazing panels of back-lit Resin and Agate Stone Slivers that will reflect the intricate details captured in and around the rocks and much loved cave areas.”

All products and furnishings were created especially for the venue and have proven to be so popular, Chris Jones now sells them.
