The concept for the project was developed around the inviting nature of the Spanish culture and an intention to give a relaxed atmosphere that transitioned harmoniously between the day and night.

The material palette was selected to be suggestive of Central and Northern Spanish Pintxos bars, with a Bondi spin. Colours traditional to Spain such as soft terracotta were contrasted with fresh mint green and natural timbers seen in the rustic timber cladding and custom white antiqued joinery. The design considered a relaxed yet intimate atmosphere to provide an unpretentious venue where a few hours could be spent enjoying a fantastic and original food and wine offering.

The new layout suits the food offering whilst maximises the function of the space with the open bar and kitchen concept to the comfortable window seats. The bench looking out onto the courtyard and thoroughfare at the corner of Hall Street offers the perfect spot for afternoon people watching and perfectly compliments the relaxed Bondi bar culture.
