Falls Creek, one of Victoria’s premier alpine resorts known for its European village feel, is adding another development to its list this season with the opening of the boutique development Fjäll this winter.

Fjäll (pronounced ‘Fee-all’) is a complete refurbishment transforming a 1960’s chalet into six apartments, which boast the true European style ski-in ski-out chalet, in a contemporary context.

The project was a collaborative design effort between the Interior Designers Hecker Phelan and Guthrie and Salter Architects.

The name Fjäll, which refers the Mountainous landscape in Scandinavia, is very fitting for the design which adheres to the Scandinavian Design aesthetic, characterised by functionality and elegance but with an Australian Alpine sensibility.

Each apartment features smoked and limed oak timber floors, wall paneling, custom designed oak timber joinery, Calacutta marble, heated balconies for après ski entertaining, cozy window banquettes and all manner of colloquial chalet accessories such as antlers, hides and stacked logs.
