Herniman Interiors were required to transform a rundown Victorian building into a relaxed high quality restaurant that was well suited to an Albert Park / city demographic. A space that was able to cater for Race Carnival functions, private dining or after work drinks. The client’s brief was to capitalise on sunshine and a “plein air” atmosphere - large airport windows open up the cafe / dining area to the street while operable doors allow for the ground floor to adapt to weather, separate functions, heating / cooling.
The scheme is soft and inviting while handmade pendant lights, textured wallpaper, timber shelving units, unique handmade prints provide layers of interest and a sophisticated rustic charm.
An ornate swirling wallpaper leads patrons up stairs to a private dining area. In contrast but complementing downstairs, moody charcoal grey walls and feature carpet provide an intimate setting. Lush velvet drapes, chrome fittings, gorgeous sideboard with artwork and a stunning organic pendant complete the room. A private kitchen off the dining room ensures guests are pampered.
