The recent refurbishment and new build works undertaken by Altis Architecture and James Clifford Construction at the Lone Pine Tavern have provided a fresh, relevant hospitality venue in the Sydney suburb of Rooty Hill.
From the initial briefing, the priority of the client The Feros Group, was to ensure the venue was an exciting new offering, one that held solid appeal for the local community.
The intention of the architecture was to open up the venue site, engaging with the surrounds incorporating feature entry ways to each of the building’s active frontages. The introduction of vivid colour and texture work with the crisp architectural lines to ground the Tavern within the streetscape.
This design direction directly responds to the client brief, enlivening the existing Tavern with fresh interiors, blending through to the areas of new building works. All of which have enabled the creation of expansive alfresco areas, breathing new life into the
The pallet of colours and textures throughout drew largely from the local landscape. These, layered together with furniture pieces formed of reclaimed timbers, the use of graphic & textural wall paper combine to create ambient lively spaces that appeal to a diverse clientele.
Feature elements incorporated within the scheme include terrace water features, a cosy external fireplace and children’s playroom with custom mural by Sydney based artist Vicki Ratcliff.
Working within a restricted budget, a close collaboration between Altis Architecture and James Clifford Constructions ensured the successful delivery of a unique venue. Proving a popular western Sydney destination, the Lone Pine Tavern embraces The Feros Group’s original vision.
