Micro in that it challenges what can be achieved within a small space through clever cutting edge design (it opens onto a beautiful private courtyard) Luxe in its attention to detail. From the exquisite furniture, artwork and finishes through to the hand picked wine, nearby eateries and premium bed linen, towels etc.

This urban jewel is hidden away within a non-descript block fronting Moor Street in the heart of Fitzroy. Once inside, the space showcases stylish city living and refined apartment essentials in an intimate and luxe setting where guests can enjoy a virtual taste-maker of good design and inner-city goods. Inside a guidebook provides information about secret local food and wine spots as well as exclusive offers for guests.

The space has been completely remodeled to include a marble lined bathing podium, (complete with mini tub) as part of the living space. A gold mirrored box contains a fold down queen size bed with luxe memory foam mattress. The kitchen sits within a raw steel monolith, appearing to hover above the ground. A Le Corbusier leather sofa and Flavio De Carvalho armchair complete this intimate setting framing a gold leaf custom coffee table by Didier.

An oversized industrial glass pivot door connects the interior to a private courtyard garden The existing bathroom has been completely re-configured with freestanding sculpted basin, angular mirror and customized folded pipework which also acts as a heated towel rail.

“The aim was to create a series of implied spaces and dynamic objects within the overall volume of the apartment-  combining materiality and beautiful objects without hiding the existing
rawness of the building. Bringing the space to life and allowing guests to change the ambience as they wish. Bare materials are treated as precious items and preserved for their beauty and memory of the site” said Ben Edwards, Director of Studio Edwards.

Like a gallery, the shop space is transforming and evolving. With new artworks and objects regularly introduced. All items are there for the experience and are available to purchase during
(at a reduced rate) or after your stay. From the bed linen, wine and robes to the custom one-off furniture pieces.
