Housed in a Heritage-listed barracks, Peasant is funky, with cool street-art murals, and eclectic lighting (the shades over the bar are made from parts of a Learjet).

Peasant is owned by Jamie Webb and Andrew Baturo who also own Libertine. The food is Spanish peasant food (hence the name), the wine list is almost entirely Spanish featuring over 100 bottles from various regions and varieties from some of Spain’s greatest producers. It’s fun, fast paced and busy every night of the week.

The walls and ceilings are covered in graffiti art by local artists, Jimmy Brigs and Sofels & Saiko. Lighting features custom made spun metal domes, copper and steel, Alvo aaltar Golden bells, and vintage glass pendants. All ceramics are vintage Italian and Spanish collected by Jamie Webb.

All stools were designed by Robert Douglas and made locally at Colonial restoration joinery in Eagle Farm. Chairs are by Thonet. Banquette seating is custom made by Pacific Rim featuring Spanish leather.

All timberwork, including bars and table tops is recycled and provided, designed and manufactured by Robert Douglas of Pacific Rim. The bar is faced with custom made Copper tiles.

The concept of the venue is by Jamie Webb, design by Robert Douglas of Pacific Rim Trading (Webb and Douglas also collaborated on Libertine). The external structure isdesigned and built by Robert Douglas.
