The Oracle is a mixed use development consisting of two residential towers over a 3 storey podium. The towers of 52 and 42 storeys contain 507 apartments (954 bedrooms) being a mix of 1 bedroom plus studies up to 2 storey luxurious penthouses.

The retail and commercial podium has approximately 10,000sqm of retail and commercial uses and sits on a 12,000sqm site taking up nearly a whole block in the core of Broadbeach.

The two towers house Peppers Broadbeach, the Gold Coast’s first new five-star hotel in a decade, after the Palazzo Versace at Main Beach opened in 2000. The Mantra Group manage the $850 million Peppers Broadbeach development. The hotel, developed by Niecon Developments, provides 505 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

Bordered by Elizabeth Avenue, Surf Parade and Charles Avenue, Peppers Broadbeach is close to Jupiter’s Casino, the Gold Coast Convention Centre and Pacific Fair.

Mantra CEO Bob East said the towers would become the cornerstone of the organisation’s presence on the Gold Coast.

“The architectural design of the hotel reflects a distinct fusion of city sophistication and coastal relaxation, with both towers featuring an extensive use of life spaces including Zen gardens, tai chi lawns, private cinemas, guest lounges, teppanyaki barbecues, steam rooms, saunas and lap, plunge and resort pools,” he said.

Rooms provide a pillow menu, gourmet mini-bar with local and organic products and a pre-order gourmet pantry delivery service. All suites boast exceptional interior design with European appliances and imported stone featured throughout.

DBI Design’s interior design intent is to further enhance the fluidity of the architectural form through careful articulation of the interior spaces.

In the planning process DBI have maximised the sweeping expanses of the outer perimeter and created liveable, open spaces.

By drawing on the subtle variations of the light and shade of the costal
environment, they are offering two finishes palette selections. The light and the mid-tone palettes both present as equally elegant yet subtly
different colour schemes, through the use of natural stones and quality joinery finishes.

The linear architectural expression of the building form is further expressed in the kitchen joinery, fixtures as well as detailing. Whilst in the bathrooms, freestanding fittings become sculptural forms which float in front of illuminated niches and concealed storage compartments.

The interior design of the Oracle apartments is synonymous with
coastal apartment living, by offering generous, luxurious spaces and resulting in sophisticated and timeless living environments. The apartments feature large format vitrified tiles, 100% wool carpet
throughout, stone bench tops, vanities, and bath surrounds, 2pac and timber veneer, joinery uints, timber veneer feature walls, integrated Miele appliances, Italian tapware and accessories, custom made pedestal vanities.

The public areas feature natural feature stone floor, natural veneer wall panelling, rare stone clad wall finishes with accent joinery, hand-painted artwork throughout.

To compliment the architecture and design of the Oracle, JVG Sound was enlisted to install the audiovisual scheme to the foyer, restaurant, gymnasium, function room, meeting room, residential and visitor lounges and cinema in each tower.

JVG Sound’s endeavour in the project was to create an easily controllable system for the residents and staff who would be utilising the areas. Complex programming and installation was completed for 20 button keypads in all the BGM zones with a Crestron TPS6L 6-inch touch panel also installed in each cinema for total audiovisual control at the touch of a button.

Furthermore JVG networked Crestron control solution in every room, and in each cinema installed an Adagio digital amplifier, Krix surround theatre speaker package, a Screen Technics cinema snap screen and a Sony Professional HD 1080P projector.

Also installed were Australian Monitor 8” ceiling speakers and 100V line amplifiers in all BGM zones. All systems were then interfaced into the Ewis fire system.

Although initially the project posed challenges for JVG Sound, once again through innovation the team overcame all to create the aesthetically pleasing environments they set out to. Overall the entire audiovisual project was highly successful with the Oracle definitely portraying the sophistication it wishes to.

GL20 and GL30

The Australian made Terra GL series features unprecendented performance and beam control when compared to other LED in ground Luminaires. No other in ground luminaire offers this combination of high output, low power consumption and low surface temperature.

Lightech

As a landmark Gold Coast building project, it was obvious that the Oracle Twin Towers would always have a focus on quality and reliability. To meet these strict requirements, Lightech Australia was engaged to supply many of the feature lighting systems for the project.

One of the most recognizable lighting elements within the project is the exterior point lighting system, which follows the shape of the buildings in subtle upward curves. A system such as this installed on the exterior of a tall building has the potential to create a real maintenance issue, though these issues were avoided as fibre optic lighting was selected as the most suitable way to achieve the effect.

The point lights are a Lightech custom designed multi-lens fixture which allows for attachment to a conduit box installed during the concrete pour. The Digilin fibre optic cables are fed through the conduit to lightsource locations within the building, resulting in a system that requires no maintenance on the outside of the building. The lightsources are Digilin Arcblaze 150 and are all interconnected by DMX512 cable enabling syncronised colour changes and effects.

Lightech also supplied many lighting elements throughout the two towers including more than 100 RGB LED pool lights and associated controls, plus hundreds of in ground LED fixtures for landscaping and uplighting purposes. Internally, LED strip systems were created to illuminate architectural features such as stairs and handrails.

Many lighting aspects around the two towers were custom designed using the latest in LED technology, as a result these systems provided high output, energy efficiency and a stylish finish to these areas.
