Sash Japanese was inspired by the Japanese landscape, paired with contemporary finishes to create a harmonious approach to Japanese fusion dining.

Illuminated timber wall paneling paired with a rock tile bar face, form and symbolize the mountainous land that Japan is renowned for.

A bright purple neon haze draws you to escape into the back of the restaurant to engage in a more intimate dining experience,

amongst raw materiality and a stunning mural by Melbourne artist Steve Cross.

It was important to integrate the raw and gritty location of Sash Japanese into the interior to create a seamless transition into the street art filled laneway towards the back of the restaurant, where your experience with Sash ends until next time.
