This sprawling site is ideally located in the centre of the main street of Werribee, Victoria’s largest growth corridor. It has been rezoned for multilevel development, has two beer gardens, space for a microbrewery and vertical herb wall and is located on a promenade which will allow for future outside dining.

The venue is an eatery and craft beer hall so it needed to be semi industrial, whilst being warm and inviting, as well as safe and secure.

In programming and planning the space, the first step was to remove any non-structural items including bars, coldrooms, ceiling, wall and floor coverings so as to expose all internal brickwork and trusses. Then the space was redesigned to accommodate a new bar location, new access to kitchen including pass, large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the promenade outside, greater access to the beer garden with the use of bi fold doors and relocate the front entry from Station St to Watton Dt. Three structural walls in centre of the building were then removed and replaced with steel trusses to create a large open space.

Craft beer and semi industrial fitouts go hand in hand and this building allowed the owners to use its original features to compliment the design and their product offerings. Exposed brickwork, polished concrete floors and ply board ceilings in the main lounge, whilst merbau decking and ceilings complimented by green synthetic turf in the beer garden.

Natural earthy tones complimented the natural features of the original building and the eatery and craft beer hall concept.

Lighting fixtures were sourced from Europe to complement the overall design and are totally controlled by an in house automatic lighting system.

Special features include a keg room with a viewing window, twin fireplaces, open air beer garden, exposed original brickwork, polished concrete floors, ply board ceilings and exposed steal work as well as trusses. Large floor to ceiling windows overlook the promenade and bifold doors to the beer garden allow the two areas to fuse into one on those balmy Melbourne nights.

Stage 2 which includes a private function space with an adjoining beer garden and second kitchen is almost complete. Then stage 3 will commence shortly to include a microbrewery, vertical herb wall for the artisanal kitchen, outside promenade dining and a private cellar dining room.
