design: Black Sheep Designs

Triglav, is a Community Club that was first established in 1971 by the Slovenian Australian community and opened by Gough Whitlam in 1972. In a move to increase trade and capitalise on the increase in betting apps, Triglav RSL engaged Black Sheep to design a new sports bar within their existing premises.

The brief required us to create  a contemporary lounge that is relevant to the tech savvy, predominantly male sports betting market without alienating the clubs existing older clientele. Heritage Grey timber panels line the walls and  are used to frame numerous LCD screens where live racing or the latest football match are continuously played.

The existing bar, sitting opposite, has been refurbished with navy blue tiles and brass detailing, a subtle nod to the classic Boca Juniors football kit.

The strong geometric patterns of Jockeys sashes gave us a narrative to work with and have been manifested in a feature rug, wall murals and a timber ceiling plane.  As well as the new lounge a cocktail menu and improved bar menu has been launched to give customers  a unique match day experience.
