The rejuvenation and expansion of the Member areas of the Vikings Town Centre Sports Club is now complete.

Work included two new main bars, enlarged Member’s lounge area, provision of banquet style seating and improved privacy to the Dining area, new spacious entry Foyer and re-carpeting, re-decorating and re-furnishing of the Club’s main floor areas.

The original Club opened in 1994. Whilst improvements and expansion have occurred over the years - including the spectacular new north Terrace in 2008 - the main bar area had remained unaltered. The new 2010 work created two new bars as well as a coffee service area in the original single bar location. The décor of the new bars aimed to give each bar a distinct new character with crisp modern detailing and the latest in bar service equipment and facilities.

The Member’s lounge area has been expanded to the north by adding a further 80 square metres of “front of house” lounge seating space in the original central Terrace area. The expanded Lounge area enjoys northerly views over the bowling greens to the rolling hills and countryside beyond. The new northerly windows are shaded by a generous roof overhang and all glazing is double glazed in keeping with today’s energy efficient design principles. The expanded lounge area has direct access to the new bars.

Relocation of the original Club administration offices, to their new back of house location, has allowed the original Foyer and Reception area

to be opened up to achieve a lighter and more generous Club arrival and welcoming area. The new spacious Foyer also provides improved views to the Club’s Bars, Dining area and Poker machine lounge beyond.

The Dining area has been made more stylish by the introduction of banquet seating and timber screening to add a degree of privacy for diners. The Dining area remains conveniently located and directly linked to the Lounge areas however a new lobby space, between the Lounge and Dining areas, brings the benefit of more privacy for diners and creates an area dedicated to the more sophisticated dining experience.

New furniture, especially selected to suit the new décor, has been provided throughout the main floor of the Club.

Whitecliffe Imports was chosen to work in conjunction with its partner HTW Design Carpet to facilitate the design and construction of a high class decorative carpet for the club.

100% nylon, AP900 construction with integrated textile underlay backing was chosen for its cost effectiveness, clarity of design and its ability to withstand hospitality foot traffic. The refurbishment of the first venue has been a resounding success providing the community with a high quality venue in keeping with the clubs philosophy.
