Godfrey Hirst at Ibis Styles, Brisbane

This project demonstrates the unique design achievable with Godfrey Hirst designer jet technology, the only of its kind in Australia to be able to print any image or design onto commercial carpet.

In the heart of the Brisbane CBD, The Ibis Styles Hotel features uninterrupted views of Brisbane River and the South Bank cultural precinct. With vibrant colours and playful design throughout the lobby, Group GSA Architects wanted a custom carpet design for hotel corridors and a complementary carpet for the colourful rooms.

Godfrey Hirst designers incorporated local origins into the corridor carpet design inspired by a topographical map of the Brisbane River. Designer jet printed onto Titanium Collection carpet, the bold design animates the space creating vibrancy, rhythm and movement along the thoroughfares.

The pixilated design in green, yellow, pink and blue is flanked by bright pink feature walls and doors hinting at the kaleidoscopic colour within the rooms.

With a different feature wall in each room providing a joyful atmosphere, a versatile and neutral carpet was needed to complement each room without overpowering. Godfrey Hirst Newport in Charcoal is a level loop pile carpet. It grounds the room with its strong, dark tone giving the floor a textured surface and subtle pattern.
