When JAM Pro Lighting was contracted to provide lighting for the Pier Bar in Cairns, which was recently awarded Most Outstanding Bar & Grill in Queensland by LUX Magazine there was one clear brand of light fixtures Managing Director Justin Ogge hand in mind that he knew would fulfil all requirements and that was CHAUVET Professional.

The Pier Bar is in an enviable location by the water and is somewhat of an institution in Cairns, known for their delicious wood fired pizzas, their relaxed Sundays and their big party events.

Having previously using the CHAUVET Professional fixtures in the past such as the Rogue R1 FX-B and the Rogue RH1 Hybrid moving heads where the fixtures performed flawlessly, Justin again came to Showtools International to acquire more CHAUVET fixtures for this install.

The decision was made to acquire the following fixtures for The Pier Bar:

• Rogue R1 FX-B Moving Head System
• Rogue R1X Spot Moving Heads
• COLORdash Par-Quad 18 Wash Lights

The Rogue R1 FX-B is a unique fixture that enables the club several looks that add depth and texture without taking up a lot of space. The five independently controlled heads are a powerful tool for varying movements that facilitates many creative options in that in turn permit the beams of light to cover the stage in the bar with mesmerizing multi-dimensional looks. “The fixtures are excellent for creating patterns on stage, for backlighting, and for covering the stage with colour. Combined this with the five moving heads on each fixture, these compact fixtures are perfect to light up the stage,” commented Justin.

The Rogue R1X Spot was also a great addition, “Things like the beam shaping, gobo projections and split colours give me more versatility than ever too. Acquiring these R1X Spots enables us to take things to the next level as far as brightness is concerned,” stated Justin. “Rogue R1X Spot shines brightly with a 170 W LED light source in a 16° beam angle for crisp gobo projections in a range of eight beautiful colors that really helped energize the guests and provide great light for the performers and DJ.”

To round off the lighting at the Pier Bar, The COLORdash Par-Quad 18 was used and is powered by 18 quad-colored RGBA LEDs in a compact and durable housing. These fixtures provided the venue with a general colour wash as the Amber LEDs help produce any variation of white and stunning saturated colors for an expansive palette devoid of multi-colored shadows.

These CHAUVET Professional fixtures installed by JAM Pro Lighting have all combined to help in creating some fantastic looks as well as create a colourful and exciting atmosphere for all the guests that attend The Pier Bar.
