The newest addition to Brisbane’s vibrant West End is Archive Beer Boutique and Bistro, the local beer boutique for brew connoisseurs. Nestled beneath the ever popular Uber Nightclub, this fresh venue specialises in unusual Australian and international beers.

The premises encompasses a large ground floor area to include a decked outdoor bistro, cosy lounge and spacious pool come dance space. The overall design aims to incorporate industrial fixtures and grungy finishes with recycled elements. Thus creating the feel of a forgotten archive, rediscovered and transformed into a somewhat secret hangout.

Visitors approach the bar area via the warmly lit, tree covered deck to find a profusion of fine beers awaiting them. The modern bar displays various bric-a-brac and quirky vintage toys, carrying on the recycled theme. Moving through to the lounge area, plush vintage furniture sits below walls lined with over 8,000 ageing books donated by Lifeline. The newspaper lined pool area provides guests tasty stories from Australia’s past while they wait to take their next shot or shuffle around the dance floor.

Every where you look in this venue it’s different; newspaper walls, stacked book bar front, concrete bar top, bookshelves on the walls,

polished concrete floors, ply board ceilings, needlepoint pictures, great furniture purchased from antique stores.

In its entirety, Archive Bar offers a unique experience not only to the ale aficionado, but those seeking a relaxed atmosphere bursting with character and raw charm.

Archive Beer Boutique and Bistro is owned by Aushotels.

Nightlife’s Team consulted with Archive, working very closely with the Group General Manager, Isaac Zietek, to refine and define their music. The package was tailor fit for the trendy, alt atmosphere that Archive were seeking. Using Nightlife lists such as ALT_SOUNDS (alternative and indie pop/rock), SURFnCITY (acoustic chill and laidback city sounds) and METRO (slick sounds for inner city bars) Archive attract and appeal to their desired demographic and trading patterns.

Archive’s holistic approach is working for them, the bar is always packed with people and full of atmosphere. They not only match their meals with their boutique beers (just like you would cheese and wine), but also match their music perfectly to the mood.
