Sitting on top of Carnegie’s, The Conservatory, is an innovative and exciting new bar and restaurant designed by Baltinas Architects (recent nightlife projects include The Court Hotel and The Gold Bar). The venue features cutting edge design blended with a luxurious fit out including an open air lawn with panoramic views of the city.

The Conservatory aims to provide an ‘urban oasis’ for those wishing to escape from the hustle and bustle of the CBD. A staircase mural depicting jungle and rainforest scenes which has been created exclusively by local artist I’m the Boss leads you up to the new rooftop venue. Lush green Astroturf seamlessly connects the interiors to the large outdoor balcony overlooking the city skyline. The structure has been highly engineered and features an impressive 14m retractable translucent roof which gives the effect of dining under the stars. Perfect for Perth’s balmy summer nights.

Expansive glass walls have been designed to capture the stunning city views and make it the perfect setting for drinks or dinner in the CBD. The venue also features built in BBQ facilities allowing guests to cook their own meat/seafood selection at their state of the art BBQ dining tables, taking interactive dining to another level. Integrated LED lighting has been incorporated to allow the venue to create different atmospheres from day to night.

In keeping with the ‘urban oasis’ theme, the function room features the original ‘Martinique’ Banana Leaf Wallpaper, originally designed for the Beverly Hills Hotel in 1942. This feature, combined with an eclectic mix of soft furnishings in various fabrics and styles gives the venue a fresh and vibrant feel.

Using elements of raw timber and steel in an industrial form provides a striking contemporary contrast with an eclectic mix of chairs and ottomans. This space is all about relaxing, it has an eclectic mix of chairs, ottomans, high bars and Indian Rosewood dining tables which provide freshness and contrast.

Top Ottoman

Round ottoman with top, fully upholstered, high density foam, floor glides. Custom upholstery options available, veneer finish also available.

Furniture Options

Dramatic use of bright coloured fabric has been used on chairs and ottomans making them a focal point inside the space. Ottomans covered in fake grass for the outdoor area are unique and engaging creating a great place to meet or just chill out.

JBL Control 25AV

The Control 25AV utilizes a deep cabinet, high power components and complex network to achieve extremely smooth high fidelity performance from a compact 2-way loudspeaker.

Jands

The sound system is divided into three zones being the main bar, outside deck and the function room. Sources include “Bar Tunes”, CD, FTA TV, DVD and DJ. The function room has a remote input plate for iPod, CD, microphone etc as well as computer input to the two plasma TVs in the room. The speaker system in each area is designed to put the patrons in the sound field of the speakers so there are numerous speakers so an even distribution of sound can be achieved without having to “turn the system up”.

A Cloud Z4 Zone audio mixer with a Cloud LM1 remote input and control station is used along with eight Seer KS10 speakers, four Seer KS8 speakers and three and JBL Control 25AV speakers. The speakers are powered by two Crown XLS2000 and one XLS1000 stereo power amplifiers.

Feature lights are all LED RGB units and include backlighting of the Corian bar top plus bar backs, drybars etc. All programmed with control by the staff to suit the theme of the “event”. Control is by a Pulsar OS1 lighting controller.

Vision is quite basic with a main 50″ Panasonic plasma in the main bar with two 42″ Panasonic plasmas in the function room. Additional video points are located around the room for additional hire sets for events such as the Melbourne Cup.
