The brief was very open form the clients and it was up to Genesin Studio to create a bar and nightclub space that offers an experience that patrons will comeback for.

The site was of an old night club and the bar was piggy backed to save money from relocating. The rest was demolished and Genesin Studio came into some costly base building and structural repairs that they had no choice to move on but the budget was very strategically allocated. The budget was saturated in the interior areas as these would be used the most, only offering small amount for the outdoor garden.

The White Rabbit name came after the design concepts had been tabled but was tied in to the deign proposal which was a play on the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ notion of chasing the white rabbit; leading yourself into a mind altering environment, which, on entry you will quickly find out that your eyes will be playing games on you!

White Rabbit offers a progressive experience starting from the entry all the way to the toilets. Either it be drinking champagne in tea cups in ‘Tea Garden Lounge’, or the private VIP ‘apartment suite’ which is behind the DJ booth offering Vegas style entertainment and supplies at your call with butler staff.

The space carries a designed narrative all the way from the rabbit warren mirror maze entry, through the tea garden, cabana bar, dance-floor and toilets using cost effective materials but detailed to give a ‘bang-for-buck’ design output. The mirror-web wall on the dance floor that gives a very different dynamic to cancing, the custom profiled bar made of a series of cheap and ugly tile freezes but tiled together and 2 pack enamelled onsite to give a ‘f@#k-off’ looking long bar. Each space is saturated with an experience for punters or night players to enjoy letting their mind roam free…
