This venue was to be a sibling with a new take on our previous fitout for clients Daniel Whiffen and Gerard Murphy of Mr Edwards Ale House in Brisbane city. Situated in Milton it has assisted in the reactivation of this area along with some other new food and beverage venues.
The colour palette emerged from a subdued version of a classic Irish Pub and bringing into modern day without being to kitsch. It combines rich copper textures, natural timbers along with green elements.
The centrepiece to the overall design is a ribbon shaped feature table. The silhouette is reminiscent of the tram tracks that would’ve once passed through this area. The design element continues through into the back bar display. This shelving is one of the few design features within the back to draw people into the space. The Cribb Street Social logo is inset in the penny round tile wall, below that is a selection of 14 tap beers and to the left a custom charcuterie. The focus here was on good food and even greater drinks, hence why the bar needed to showcase this!
The client’s main beer supplier is Mountain Goat Brewery so it was requested to have a feature to reflect that strong partnership which resulted in the timber wall feature with their Goat logo front and centre.
Having everything being designed and manufactured in house means that we have complete control over the quality of our finishes and can put extra time into them, for example the copper bar front. This lead us to get the desired effect we were after, going from plain copper sheet to a special patinaed finish.
Another great feature at this venue is the large outdoor area which more than doubles the dining space and is perfect to enjoy nearly all year round in Brisbane’s beautiful weather with a drink or two in hand.
