LightCo at Bopp & Tone
Step into 60 Carrington Street and you’d be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped back in time! In a tribute to the founders’ grandfathers, Keith ‘Bopp’ Evans and Anthony ‘Tone’ Adams, Sydney CBD restaurant and bar, Bopp & Tone came into being. With interiors and design by Luchetti Krelle, the venue pays tribute to post World War II optimism – things could only get better!
Bopp & Tone’s overall style is one of lived-in luxurious grandeur, yet relaxed and informal. As you’d expect, there’s lots of marble, classic tiles and textures, offset by dark and heavy timber furnishings, as well as an alfresco dining terrace and private dining room.
Designer Luchetti Krelle’s inspiration came largely from original vintage photos from the owner’s private collection. They provided the visual cues that were interpreted with a modern twist in homage to their grandfathers. The main challenge involved recreating the vintage ambience whilst keeping the aesthetic inviting and contemporary. Regarding the lighting, LightCo was proud to be involved in carefully curating a selection of vintage style pendant lights and wall sconces to interplay with the natural light to create a refined and glamorous atmosphere.
