Kindle Living at Feathers Hotel

The old Burnside in Adelaide has had a facelift. The fresh refurbishment of the Feathers Hotel has had a major impact on the area. The new look terrace has given the old establishment a new feel and atmosphere. The old front bar is all designer tap beer and more hard surfaces. Behold an expansive roofed beer garden under a TV screen that dominates the eastern wall like the hills it hides.

Matthews Hotels director Shaun Matthews said the result was a more modern-looking dining area, to be complemented with a more modern, healthy menu.

“The hotel is nearly 50 years old and it needs to be brought into the 21st century,” Mr Matthews said. The pub took six years to be approved and almost $4 million was spent on refurbishing.

Matthews decided to go with the Black Allisons Heaters with the pleated shade in the outside terrace. The patrons have warmed to the kindle heaters at the Feathers Hotel. Matthews spoke to his design team and they thought the kindle heaters were aesthetically perfect fit for the new design at the Feathers Hotel.
