The client asked us to provide three clearly delineated atmospheres with an integrated contemplation. We wanted to create a delightful retreat from the elements – a space that would restore the windswept and the surf-pummelled, by offering shelter and ease. Just as a real greenhouse protects the fruit blossom from the wind and frost.

The incorporation of unique artisanal details such the stemmed flowers in glass contributed by Beci Orpin are a timeless yet contemporary element. It was difficult to find an artist could realise this vision, but we are very pleased with the results.

Joyful collisions of greens and whites are found everywhere the eye falls but always in proportion to the space and it’s intention. Each level is sensibly fitted out for purpose and presents clear visual cues. Movement from the casual dining on the ground floor to the third floor cocktail garden bar can be navigated with ease and without undue disruption to the formal dining and functions occurring on the mid level.
