From the very first meeting our team was amazed by the client’s passion and deep understanding of wine culture and the extensive range of Australian wines. Their passion was truly contagious.
The design intent was to create an intimate, warm and cozy space which can shine bright amongst the highly competitive offering in Manly. Our brief was to turn a small space into a venue with a dominating, yet friendly and welcoming atmosphere, creating the perfect background with an amazing selection of wines, a creative menu and attentive service.
This environment was achieved by a combination of hazel and chocolate wooden surfaces, teal velvet upholsteries, low-leveled pendants and brass elements. The main focal point of the restaurant is a huge open wine wall display, which allows guests to easily observe the extensive range of wines offered at the bar.
Located within a heritage area, the shop front also claimed our attentive consideration. This encouraged the application of durable and grainy herringbone timber tiles, complimented by aged brass wall lights. The theme was continued into the bar area. This time using engineered timber for the herringbone pattern and delicate brass pieces wedged in-between.
Today, we are happy to see how our creative collaboration turn into an atmospheric space with an exceptional range of carefully selected Australian wines accompanied by an ingenious menu. It is a gorgeous addition to Manly’s restaurant and bar scene.
