Ron De Vu is a brand new boutique bar that has opened on Crown Street in the heart of Wollongong. Birdblack Design was engaged to transforms its interior. Previously the interior housed a dark aesthetic and the new owners wanted to create and open and light space. Ron De Vu has a strong focus on serving quality wines and beer and so the fitout needed to coincide.
The brief was to create a space that felt fresh from anything seen in the Wollongong area. A strong emphasis on concrete and oak timber was to be used. The dark tiled mosaic floor began as the base to this space. Concrete and oak timber table tops flow throughout the bar area.
Coffee table suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Injected polypropylene table base which can be combined with solid laminate, glass or powder coated steel tops. Colours: white, black, light grey and beige.
The Kroft restaurant and cafe chair has redefined the rustic look. We like to call it ‘industrial chic’. It is by far one of our most admired designs yet. Its’ solid yet stylish structure makes it an effective addition to the hospitality industry.
The white chairs with oak bases aid in creating a contrast between finishes. Highlights of brass have been used at the bar display and within the feature pendant lighting. The custom neon signage is surrounded by green foliage and is certainly the eye catcher of this interior.
This boutique space feels open yet intimate, there are subtle details throughout the bar that tie it all together; greenery, pattern timber and brass. The paired back selection of materials and clean-lined design have been welcomed Ron De Vu’s clientele.
